Quinn's new "Choo Choo"

Here is Quinn enjoying his new "Choo Choo". We're all wondering just how long these batteries are going to last before needing a recharge.

Tree, Candy Helper and Snow

Quinn was a big help decorating the tree. He's been pretty good with not touching ornaments. Only one has broken since the tree was decorated!
Quinn helping Rich smash candy canes for his peppermint bark and licking frosting off a cooling rack.
Quinn loves the snow! With the wind chill, it was in the low teens- too cold for Jack. He love snow but could do without the cold :). We have more now than in the picture and it's snowing again. Yay!

Holiday Festivities

On Friday night we went to the Port Festival at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal to see some friends sing in the Bellingham Community Chorus. Quinn enjoyed the concert, as you can see from the photo. His friend Haven is in the background. There was also a gingerbread house competition and pictures with Santa. We managed to keep Quinn from trying to eat the houses but the Taylor family still did some damage- Rich and I dropped the camera on a house! Oops.

Saturday was tree day! We went to a fun tree farm in Deming. It was cold and rainy- good thing we all had galoshes to wear! Quinn had a great time wandering through the trees. His favorite part was riding in a wagon back to the car after cutting down the tree.

Gobble Gobble!

Ang and Quiin making some Happy Thanksgiving cards. I was trying to
relax about the paint getting everywhere, so it was a good activity
for Quinn and _Mom_ ;) -Rich

Kid's Best Friend

They may drive each other nuts on a regular basis but it's obvious
that they're good friends.

Yes, there really is a baby in there, Quinn! This picture was taken at about 27 weeks.

Note Quinn's chapped cheeks from a bad cold. Poor kid!

Portland Zoo

Last week Quinn and I went down to Portland with our friends Claire and Cooper. The boys did really well, thanks in large part to Claire's DVD player in the car! Hey, whatever works.

Quinn go to spend some time on Sunday afternoon at the Portland Zoo with Grammee and Grandad. His favorite part was riding the zoo train :).

Halloween Pilot

When I told Quinn he was going to be a pilot for Halloween, he kept saying "arrrrrrr." I guess pilot and pirate sound the same to a 2-year old :). His costume was greatly enhanced by Grandad Al's aviation headphones (they actually work!). Thanks, Grandad!

Gold Beach

Quinn and I went down to Gold Beach for 4 days to visit great grandparents while my parents were there. I learned to can tuna (home-canned tuna is the BEST) and make apple pie- 2 essential skills! We also got to visit Grandad Al in Portland to and from Gold Beach. As always, it was great to see everyone!

Chillin' with the homies

The other day Quinn and I met up with the Oliver / Todd duo to watch
some RC car races. The kids were much more interested in throwing
rocks into a puddle than they were in the car races. It was all good
until we lost the sunshine and it dropped about 15 degrees in 10
minutes. Brrr

Peek a boo!

Jack at it again

With Ang and Quinn out of town, Jack is getting some extra love. Daily
trips to the park and a fresh chew toy. No more than 5 minutes after I
had finished vacuuming he had torn apart his new "indestructable" dog
toy.

Pumpkin Patch

On Friday we went to Stoney Ridge Farm in Everson with a group of friends. Quinn, Oliver, Laoise, Ben, Haven and Alora had a great time! They got to wander through a bin maze, feed animals, go on a wagon ride, pick pumpkins and apples. The best part was the hot dog and cider donut lunch!

Camping!

Rich and I decided to celebrate our five year anniversary with a family camping trip (minus Jack) to the Olympic Peninsula. Because we haven't camped with Quinn yet and Jack usually sleeps in the tent with us, we decided our first few trips would be Poudini-free until QT was comfortable. We planned to camp in the coast but didn't realize we needed a reservation for the ferry to Port Townsend. So we ended up pitching our tent in the Deception Pass campground. What an awesome place! We were worried about spending the night in a tent with Quinn after hearing horror stories from our friends but he was a rock star. It took camping for him to sleep until 8am! Unfortunately, that meant we missed our ferry reservation. Luckily we made it on standby later in the morning.

The Olympic Peninsula was beautiful as well. For living in WA for so long, neither of us has spent much (if any) time over there. We planned to stay at the Lake Quinault Lodge but didn't look at a map. It was another 4 hour drive from the ferry so we called a sister lodge closer to the east side and were able to switch our reservation. We stayed at the Sol Duc Hot Springs. It was gorgous up there but I'd skip the springs and resort. The Lake Crescent Lodge just below Sol Duc seemed much cooler. That's where we rented a row boat for some time on the lake. We'll definately be back to Lake Crescent. Maybe for a camping trip next year (with Jack). Ha, and baby, so maybe not with Jack unless we can convince him to sleep outside or we get a much larger tent.

Speaking of baby, we're almost half way through the pregnancy! It has gone by so fast. Next week is our 20-week ultrasound. No, we're not finding out the baby's gender. And no, you can't convince us otherwise :). The baby is kicking a lot, so much that Rich can feel it now. I can't wait for Quinn to be able to feel his baby brother or sister moving around. He'll be so excited!

Wallet Pilfering

When Quinn finds my wallet around the house, he hides under the computer desk and takes everything out. Then he stuffs the contents, money and all, in the slot above the keyboard drawer. If I can't find a card from my wallet, I always look there!
