Tree

We went to a tree farm the weekend before last to get our tree. Finding a tree was pretty quick this year...the blustering cold might have had something to do with it! Quinn was a trooper while Nolan slept.

We didn't get around to decorating the tree until last night because of a busy week and me being sick. Rich had Nolan and camera duty while Quinn helped me decorate. These pictures are much clearer than our others because Rich got a new early Christmas present to himself, a new camera! He's very excited :).

November Pictures

It's time to catch up on our blog! Below are pictures from November...

We went for a mini-adventure on November 1st to Camano Island, just to check it out. The state or county park on the water was very nice. We will probably go back for a camping trip next summer.

Quinn was my model for the arm warmers I recently knit. And wearing his new long johns. He wouldn't take them off after trying them on :).

Nolan started crawling right before we left for Alabama for 2 weeks. In this sequence of pictures, he saw something he wanted on the shelf, crawled there, then climbed up to standing to get it. He was very proud of himself!

halloween

The boys thoroughly enjoyed halloween this year. Quinn had fun making his robot costume, though pieces started falling off pretty early into the festivities. He lasted about half an hour with it on. Next year we're going for comfort!

After trick or treating downtown we went to the Bandstra's house for a halloween/birthday party for Aaron. Fun times! Quinn had fun digging for treasures in the hay, playing with Noah's toys, and reveling in the halloween spirit. They put on a great party!

wood

A neighbor recently chopped a bunch of wood for his fireplace and it is stacked in his driveway. As we walked by, I had Quinn take a big sniff to smell the wood. I said, "Mmmm, it smells yummy!" And Quinn's response was, "Wood's not yummy. It's plastic!" Apparently we have a lot to teach our 3 year old.

Late Sept Pictures

Nolan taking a great nap on Dad :). And chilling with Great Gram. I love how he's looking up at her.

Quinn had a great time helping to paint a bookshelf with Nolan supervising.

School Days

Quinn has been in preschool for a month now and he loves it! After I picked him up from school yesterday he told me that he learned about germs and how they go down the drain when you wash your hands. He's really soaking things up and growing up so fast! Below are pictures from his first day.

Here's a picture of Nolan wearing a party hat at a friend's birthday party.

Quinn loved helping Grandma paint while she was here two weeks ago. They got the kitchen and family rooms done. It's so nice to have fresh coats of paint! The kitchen is now light yellow and the family room is VERY close to the old color with less green, more grey. Or at least that's what we were shooting for. Unfortunately, the yellow kitchen makes the family room look green.

We xoxox PDX

The boys had a train adventure down to Portland for Labor Day weekend. It was awesome to be out of the car for 4 days (not that we are in the car much anyway). The weather didn't exactly cooperate but with the new rain cover for the stroller, Quinn and Nolan managed to stay pretty dry.

Quinn was very excited to take the train. On our way to the station we stopped by Avenue Bread for Eggenues. Yum! The view from the train is beautiful, the food not so much.

We were lucky to have another 3 year old sitting next to us from Mt Vernon to Portland so Quinn had a friend to play with . Too bad Brogan wasn't going back up to Bellingham on Monday!

Nolan had his first food in Portland- sweet potatoes. He wasn't a fan but I think it was just too new for him. We did them again this morning and he's getting the hang of it.

This monster post will end with Quinn doing his monster face. It's complete with a growl :).
