Hike

Rich has decided to summit Mt Baker this year with friends and a guide. In preparation, he is taking the boys (and me when I want to go) on weekend hikes. Last weekend we went up to Fragrance Lake off Chuckanut Drove. It was a great hike, everyone had fun, but we were all tired by the end. Well, maybe not Nolan who had the cushiest ride in the house. This unseasonably warm weather is driving me nuts but it does have its advantages. We normally wouldn't go for a hike in the middle of January wearing thin clothes and hats on the adults!

Note: the lighting makes me look REALLY tired.

Snack time at the lake.

Once again both Rich and I thought the other had packed Quinn's jacket. Luckily, he was wearing a long sleeved shirt, a fleece and we had 2 jackets for Rich that served as blankets for him. Next time, we'll both assume we're on jacket duty!

Disappearing Dinners

After Quinn finished all of his dinner tonight (a rare occasion), he was very proud of himself and said "I disappeared it in my belly!" Yep, something like that, honey bunches.

He was a total rock star today at the dentist where he had the first of two fillings done. Note to other parents: stay away from gummy vitamins! It's rather depressing to have your three and a half year old have 2 fillings but at least we know about the vitamins now and these are his baby teeth. Hopefully the good dental habits we're instilling in him now will carry through to great adult teeth!

This is a fun sequence of Rich playing with the boys. He started wrestling with Quinn, then Nolan wanted to play too so he started climbing on Daddy. They had so much fun!

Christmas Baking

Quinn loved helping to make frosted sugar cookies- especially the frosting part! Nolan wanted to help. The apron grandma made him will come in handy for the Valentine cookies!

Here are a few pictures of Rich's peppermint bark that he is becoming famous for. He also made peppermint patties this year. Yum!
